Just to update you on this:

Bradford Cycling Forum is now based in the CycleBradford website:
http://cyclebradford.org.uk.

The group are working on a cycling strategy to improve everything cycling in the district – including many of the points above.

It would be great if you could comment on the strategy and even get involved in helping to deliver it. See:

It’s not all bad in Bradford!

There are a number of things happening to bring the cycling communities together and promote cycling more widely.

This year saw the districts first cyclo sportive, the Sky ride, summer CycleFest, to name but a few events.

The Aire Valley Bike Bus has now been running for more than 2 years bringing a small group of commuters together to cycle in numbers each week.

Interesting… there is a Sky ride going on in Bradford in August or sometime, where they’re going to close the roads to cars so everyone can cycle freely in Bradford.

The demand needs to be there so the people of Bradford need to speakup/shout!

I visited my home town 2 weeks ago, while a small city, it was designed in the 70′s and has fantastic cycle routes and paths which nobody uses?!!

Its easy to get around in minutes in flat Cambridgeshire, but everyone drives???

So you have to ask yourself with all the promotion (if any) people won’t cycle, so why invest money when there is already massive cuts. (I would like to see more cyclists in Bradford etc and my home town but people choose not to).

I seem to remember that CTC operate a scheme for taking the culture of cycling into schools – why are they ignoring/failing Bradford – or are they?
