I often think the people who make these decisions have lots of intelligence and no common sense. They must have the same statistics as you and I, think of the savings the NHS would make if people were fitter. In my opinion people who are over weight by a specific margin should be refused treatment until they reach a target weight, that way you might even solve the alcohol and smoking issues too. I was overweight 2 years ago but did something about it, the only time I have been to the doctors since was to get off my cholesterol tablets.
