Open events need to be entered 10 days in advance with CTT form.

Have a look through CTT events

Have you been up Hard Knock pass in Cumbria, its quite a climb?

When I have been in France, there is nothing quite like the Col’s in the Alps to get the body going.

Will be interesting to hear how you get on with the intervals. Might give them a crack myself. My hill training is 5 reps of Swains Lane (or Swine’s Lane as I now call it). 2.5 mins up, 4mins recovery. It’s pretty intense with a short recovery and I can’t do this more than once a week as I find my legs take a long time to recover.

The hardest part of hill training is going back every week as mentally you’re still scarred with the pain from the last attempt. An hour of pain and pushing yourself to the verge of being sick is not a welcome prospect. As some wise man once said, it never gets easier, you just get faster.

I have toyed with the idea of doing hills with extra weight in panniers but I’m not sure this will improve my mental well-being, let alone my overall fitness.
