I think you can get a high definition Eurosport internet feed for £2.99 a month if you sign up for a year, or it’s £4.99 if you just want to get a single month (such as for the Giro in May). You can then plug your laptop into your telly and you’re good to go.

It’s also worth pointing out that ITV’s highlights programmes are really good and while they didn’t cover all the Classics, they did do Liege-Bastogne-Liege, so you could have caught the climax later on, Tejvan.

For anyone who needs Eurosport – you can get a mobile subscription to it, free, with an Orange pay monthly contract.

I watched the classics for the first time myself this year. Love the insight from Sean Kelly co-commentating. Cancellera was a beast, so too Sagan who should have nabbed MSR but for inexperience when it came to tactics. You’re right though, watching the Tdf after this might be a bit of a let down! Roadside donkeys aside that is…

Shame you missed Dan Martin in the finale, amazed he put purito in his place. Brilliant! A small mention to road.cc and their fantasy cycling game for getting me into pro racing after all these years.

The trick with eurosport is to ALWAYS record the prog following the cycling. It is notorious amongst cycling fans for starting late and and therefore overunning its slot. Especially if bloody snooker or tennis is on just beforehand ! I learnt the hard way too!:-):-)
