Last year I published some classic time trial photos, by Bernard Thompson which were very popular. So this year I’ve found another 30 to publish.

For many years, Time Trials were the Bread and Butter of British racing. This picture does invite a few cheesy comments though.

My father was Cliff Smith ( winner of 18 ’24′ hour time trials and Edinburgh to London record holder for 24 years) – brings back alot of memories of growing up in the world of cycling. Lovely photos, I remember the names so well. I recall Jock Wadley giving me a pen when I was a little girl. I still have all the photos taken of Cliff – lots by Bernard Thompson especially.
Thanks for publishing those great photos. I used to do a bit of time trialling (10′s & 25′s) and well remember Webster and Cammish … along with Dave Lloyd!
