Beauty and the Bike

An interesting video from this project supported by Darlington Media Group – Beauty and the Bike

It is a look at why girls stop cycling and what can be done to get them started.

For me, it is all a very different perspective on cycling. I have to say, wondering whether you can wear high heals when cycling has always been pretty low down on my list of priorities when cycling.

Alway look ‘Bella in Selle’ :-) But I can’t actually picture myself in high heels on the bike either, unless they have carbon soles. LOL

I saw this video before. Interesting documentary.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I thought it was a superb film, and a superb idea and ethos. Germany, or at least Bremen, are doing a great job and we can learn a lot from them. Good luck to Darlington and I hope it gets adopted in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Personally, high heels wouldn’t be my choice but if it gets more people cycling then great!

Great video – more people on bikes = safer for all of us

Don’t forget women are an indicator species for cycling safety

I’m very surprised at how poor the cycling infrastructure is in England… but since I’m from Denmark that’s not surprising.

This is how a bike city should be:
Separate bike lanes
Traffic signs for cyclist
Blue lanes in intersections

Want to see a city with these improvements? Visit Copenhagen or just Denmark…

Here’s a little video from Copenhagen :
