Colnago Bikes

Since its foundation in 1954, Colnago has developed a reputation for being one of the world’s top bike builders. It was founded by Ernesto Colnago in 1954 in Cambiago, Italy.

Colnago have a reputation for building stiff bikes, with excellent road holding properties. They have sought to remain at the forefront of bike technology. In conjunction with Ferrari, they developed carbon fibre frames. Their flagship bikes the C-50 and C-40 are currently made out with Carbon fibre.

In the 1980s, they developed a straight fork, which was found to offer excellent strength and was often lighter than aluminimum forks. The “Precisa” straight fork has influenced design of modern carbon fibre forks.

Colnago have a long reputation of sponsoring professional cycling teams. Most notably, Colnago sponsored Eddy Merckx’s Molteni squad. In recent years they have sponsored Mapei, Rabobank and Team Milram
