I know someone who has an original dawes galaxy they bought it around 74/75 for £100 it is 531 reynolds it was brought into the bike shop i worked in for a service and i gave it a test run and it really is a very light bicycle the person no longer uses it and am seriously thinking of offering the person £100 for it.
the bike needs a bit of work done to it as the wheel rims are very rusty(chrome) and the mechs and chain are manky as for appearance the frame and forks would need shotblasted and powder coated but not the original colour of brown as it is now, red would be a nice colour along with replacement transfers and the components cleaned and restored it could possibly win prizes at classic car shows( i have a 1975 peugeot px 60 which won two first prizes and a second at classic car shows this year) is the dawes worth £100?

The Colnago doesn't sound like good value when you can get an all carbon Dura-ace Ribble for a couple of hundred quid more but how do you value the Colnago name?
