Speedplay Cleats

Speedplay say that cleats may need replacing every 5,000. I find you can get 10,000 to 15,000 miles. I try to avoid walking in them where possible. Another problem is that the screws can get rusty, especially in winter cycling. I spray the cleats with GT-80 every now and then.

When you do replace your speedplay cleats make sure you get exactly the same position in the shoe as previously. If you change your position you can end up with knee problems.
