The 5.5 has a slight difference to the pro version – it has a longer head tube. This is to give a slightly more upright position. Less aerodynamic but more comfortable. Someone looking for a serious comfortable sportive bike would be happy with the handling, power and all round performance of the Madonne 5.5. The OCLV Carbon frame has a good reputation for combining low weight, strength and the ability to absorb shock. Trek proudly state that the bikes they sell are exactly the same as the bikes used by pro teams. Even Lance Armstrong’s bike was said to come off the production line. So when you buy a trek you can have no excuses for not having the same equipment as the pros.

It weighs just under 8 kg – 17.4lb.

[...] Trek Madone 5.5 – Same frame, so good choice, if you can’t quite justify spending Trek Madone 6.9 prices [...]
