It has integra bead to bead puncture protection, but, it is still best to keep for time trials, triathlons as the lightweight does come at some compromise to puncture protection. The Schwalbe Stelvio tyre offers a high end racing tyre for the serious racer. The tyre is light weight at 235 grams, althouth a little heavier than the excellent Michelin pro race tyre.
Based on Raceguard technology, Schwalbe have sought to combine low rolling resistance with strong puncture protection.
Scwalbe are a German company who have a strong reputation throughout Europe, especially in the Mountain biking scene.

As a rival to the Continental GP 4000, the Michelin pro 3 may just edge out the Continental on several criteria.
At 200g it is slightly lower weight.
The Michelin pro race tyre is said to have one of the lowest rolling resistances on the market.
Excellent grip, which some people say the Continental 4000 struggles with. The excellent gripping technology is based on silica rubber. Also the gripping compound extends around the rim of the tyre, giving excellent gripping action at a variety of angles.

Continental Grand Prix 4000 are the successor to the highly popular Grand Prix 3000 series. The new tyre boosts increased performance with lower rolling resistance combined with improved puncture protection.
Continental have made use of Vectran technology to offer the best rolling resistance and puncture protection. I bought a pair for my road bike and having been testing them out. Brand new, the tyres have quite a smooth feel and they looked pretty good in the Gold /black combination. Continue reading →
