Rebecca Romero

Rebecca Romero has achieved an Olympic medal in both rowing and cycling.

In the 2004 Olympics, she won the Silver medal for the quadruple sculls. In 2006, she retired from rowing and switched to cycling. She made rapid progress and by 2007 and gained second place in the World Championship 3km pursuit.

In the 2008 Olympics, Rebecca won gold in the individual pursuit.

In August 2009 she attempted the 874 mile non-stop mixed tandem bicycle record attempt from Land's End to John O'Groats with James Cracknell but had to give up at more than half way due to a knee injury 

In 2009, the UCI decided to drop the individual pursuit (in favour of the Omnium event), Rebecca has made plans to try and switch to the individual time trial for the 2012 Olympics. In early 2010, she competed in UK time trials in preparation for changing discipline.
