Bad Blood: The Secret Life of the Tour de France
Written by Jeremy Whittle, this gives an honest and frank assessment of life in the peleton. Through his personal relationships with Armstrong and David Millar he is able to give a unique perspective on the professional cycling world. The impression you get is not of a man who is trying to portray cycling in a bad light. It is someone who would definitely like to believe in and celebrate the sport, but, ultimately, he is aware of the frustrations and nature of the sport.
This is hardly a surprise, whether Lance Armstrong has ever failed dope tests or not. The way he chased down Fillipo Simeoni who testified against Armstrong’s doctor – Michael Ferrari – it was indicative of Armstrong’s attitude to doping.
