2 Stupid Cycling Accidents

It’s not been a good start to the year. 2 weeks in Malaysia meant a late start to the year.
Last weekend I was putting some leaflets in pigeon holes when I strained my thigh muscle. I was just bending in a certain position for 10 – 15 minutes and when I stood up my leg felt dead. I didn’t ride for a few days. I was a bit annoyed because the weather was very good last weekend.

When I did go out on the bike on Thursday, it was -1 degrees. I waited for a few hours hoping the ice would melt. But, I managed to nicely fall off, just 0.5 miles from my house.

Icey Road

The offending corner – The switch from Sunny to shady part of the road caught me out.

As I was sitting on the ground, I warned two cyclists who came by that it was a very icey corner. I think the first one nearly came off, if I hadn’t said anything he might have been lying on the ground with me.

I do admire pro-cyclists who fall off and then jump back on to cycle another 200km. I cycled home and spent ages trying to wash and then clean the wound. It wasn’t so painful, I’ve just never liked the sight of blood…

    Hi
Careful about that bent mech – if it’s not right the chain can drag it and it will end up in your wheel – potentially very dangerous.

    Need to check thedropout too

Just a bent rear mech, which was relatively easy to repair. Thanks Rodney!
