Parking on Pavement

This road is part of a cycle network. It links upto a cycle path which cuts across some fields into city centre.

Unfortunately, the road is narrow with all the parked cars. You can see how the council have tried widening the road by making cars park within certain lines on the road and pavement.

Unfortunately, even with this road widening scheme, there is not much room for more than one car and two parked cars. In the few minutes I was taking photos, I noticed how it was cyclists giving way to cars. It’s not clear whose right of way it would be. Those taking least space?

It’s hard to think of what could be done about this. There wasn’t too much traffic.

Don’t forget that some houses are shared and will have 3 or more car owners too.

It is a pain to cyclists or emergency services but also the residents need somewhere to park too but looks like they don’t care and park wherever they want.

The problem in the pictures looks to be too many cars.

To fit pavements and a clear run of road through, means that the solution is to get rid of a load of those cars.

Not a vote winner though :>/

We used to live in an old terrace house with no off-road parking. A couple of the neighbours thought they needed 2 cars. One selfish turd in particular needed 3. Bizarre!
