I sometimes search through Archive photos. These were in the UK national archives. First one shows the joy of cycling. Significant in that, during the late Victorian period, the bicycle gave women a sense of real freedom. I love how in those days, you could ride FIVE abreast and there was no car driver to squeeze you into the ditch.
The second photo, couldn’t be any different. British commandos landing in Normandy with bicycles ready to help sorties into mainland France.
