Cycling Records

Have you ever wondered how fast you could cycle backwards underwater on a unicycle? Neither have I… but  amidst the more bizarre records there are quite a few which take the breath away. For example, the most vertical distance climbed in 24 hours = 20,000 metres – (or 100 ascents of a 200m climb or Alpe D’Huez 40 times up and down in a day (Maybe one to attempt in a few years….) It would be easier than cycling an average of 205 miles a day to break record for most miles cycled in a year…

Tejvan, making up the last category (the pothole-4WD-whitevan-roadtax record) is a record on its own, worthy of mention on a Monty Python sketch.
