Wednesday – 71 miles. Av. Speed 20.1mph. 4 long hills. Including 11 mile rise from Hambledon, Henley to Christmas Common. It is only reaches a gradient of about 1 or 2% for first couple of miles. Towards the end of the climb it rises to about 8-9%. The total height climbed is 225 metres. – It feels a little like an Apline pass! There is also a  6 mile climb from Wycombe to Stokenchurch.

Thursday – Rest Day

Friday – 25 miles gentle ride av. speed 17mph

10 Mile TT – on H10/8

single tester

Saturday – 10 Mile TT 21.24. Average speed. 27.8mph at Bentley – Charlottesville CC

Sunday – 25 mile TT 54.57 Average speed 27.3mph at Marlow – West London C.A

The 10 was a bit dissappointing. The 25 was quite good, it was only a slightly slower average speed than the 10 mile TT. I think I finished 4th out of 85.

50 Mile TT Record – Michael Hutchinson.

A bit belated, but congratulations to Michael Hutchinson who set a new record for a 50 mile Time trial. 1.35.27. An average speed of 31.43 mph or over 50Kmph. That is a very fast time for 50 miles!
