Cycling as Business

I cycle for fun or to race. But, for many the bike is an intrinsic part of their job / business. This is a few examples of how people use bikes for business / jobs

Policemen on Bikes

Policemen on bikes. The police uses bikes quite a lot to patrol areas of Oxford. Police on Bikes

Ambulance Bike

Ambulance Bike. I see this ambulance man frequently cycling around Oxford. Obviously must have a good response time to any incident in the centre of town.

Girl Basket

Old Fashioned Cycle Courier. A girl makes deliveries on her bike, but finds time to send a text message. – A mix of old and modern technologies.

I can’t stand those advertising bikes. It annoys me to see local businesses taking up public parking spaces to make profit.

As for the bike taxis, there are a few of those in Cambridge. They’re not proper taxis: they just do a fixed tourist route round the centre of town, with some commentary. The riders must be pretty fit to pedal those huge things around with two passengers on the back, while also talking. They are almost invariably considerate road users.

You’re complaining about the space taken up by a bike? A bike? Seriously?
