First Interval Sessions of the Year

The ice has finally left here in the UK, and the racing season suddenly looms around the corner. The idea of racing at the moment always gives a certain dread so I’ve been doing my first hard riding of the year to remember what it’s like to race.
Today I did my traditional 10 mile winter time trial on my winter training bike. Its on a slow bumpy course on a slow bike with mudguards, lights, panniers, spare tyres e.t.c. I did the 10 miles in 25.40 which isn’t bad for this time of the year. But, quite a way of my 20.13 from the peak of last summer.

Anyway, it always feels good to get the first ‘races’ done. I love the feeling after a really hard ride and it motivates you to do more races and training.

BTW: Thanks to a reader called David, who told me my site wasn’t working in IE. I’m a mac user so rarely check IE!
